Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Amanullah Khan Jadoon has said Pakistan’s oil and gas sector has opened for local and foreign investors and invited China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation (CPECC) to participate in the upcoming cross border gas pipeline projects, construction of gas storages and exploration activities for mutual advantage.
He was talking to the CPECC delegation headed by Executive Director Zhoung accompanied by Director Quoe who called on him here on Friday and exchanged views on investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
The delegation briefed the Minister about CPECC worldwide oil and gas activities. They told that China Petroleum had already participated in the construction of PARCO White Oil Pipeline (WOPP) from Karachi to Mehmood Kot (Muzaffargarh) and also offered in the biddings for construction of oil pipeline from Lahore to Taro Jabba near Peshawar.
Jadoon welcomed Chinese participation in the oil and gas development activities and hoped it would open up new avenues of bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Amanullah briefed the Chinese Petroleum Engineering Group about the upcoming oil and gas development projects including the construction of gas storage, coastal oil refinery, cross border pipeline and coal gasification projects.
He said the government was also providing on attractive package of incentives to the investors in the on shore and offshore exploration.
