A high profile delegation representing Haier Ruba of China visited Pakistan Investment Division and Board of Investment (ID&BoI) on June 20 2008 and discussed business promotion and cooperation. The Ruba group was represented by Haji Koch Muhammad, Chairman, Nawabzada Muhammad Shah, Director and Shah Faisal, Vice President.
The Haier side was represented by Lu Keng, Vice President, Su Yuhua, Head of Policy Department, Xu Weihong, Head of Communication & Business Promotion, Huang Jainyu, Director Finance & Research and An, General Manager Projects.
The Commercial Counsellor of China also accompanied the delegation. Ahmad Waqar, Secretary, ID&BOI, chaired the meeting while representatives of Ministry of Textiles, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries, Production & Special Initiatives Federal Bureau of Revenues and Ministry of Finance were also present.
During the meeting Lu Keng, Vice President of Haier explained the concept of China Pakistan Economic Zone (CPEZ) and the long-term benefits Pakistan will reap in the field of economy, business, investment, trade and employment generation, Haier Ruba also submitted a formal proposal with the proposed modalities of the project.
Secretary, ID&BOI acknowledged the positive approach of the Chinese group towards investing in Pakistan and assured all the due support and facilitation on behalf of government of Pakistan so as to successfully complete this exemplary project.
