LAHORE (May 16 2009): A Pakistan businessmen delegation is leaving for China to take part in the largest plastic and rubber trade fair, Asia Chinaplas-2009, to be held from May 18 to 21. Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Executive Committee member and President Katarbund Industrial Estate Syed Mehmood Ghaznavi would lead an 11-member delegation.
Chinaplas has become a distinguished meeting and business platform for plastic and rubber industries and has largely contributed to their prosperous development. At present, Chinaplas is not only the largest plastic and rubber trade fair in Asia, it is also widely recognised by the industry as the third most influential exhibition in the world.
Only K Fair in Germany, the world's premier plastic and rubber trade fair, and NPE in the US, the second largest plastics fair in the world, surpasses its significance. The delegation, comprises Muhammad Shoaib, Iqbal Beg Chughtai, Sohail Akbar, Sheikh Muhammad Afzal, Rizwan Aslam, Ijaz Ali, Qamar-Uz-Zaman, Liaquat Ali, Ghulam Farooq and Chaudhry Wajid Ali, would also visit various chambers of commerce and industry and other trade organisations in China.
The delegation would also have one-to-one meetings with their Chinese counterparts. Syed Mehmood Ghaznavi said that Pakistan was lucky to have skilled and cheap labour and the other positive point of the plastic industry was that it was close to the export markets.
