Chinese investors express interest in Sindh tourist resorts

A six-member Chinese delegation called on Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah and showed interest in investing in the tourism sector especially in the Gorakh Hill Resort and added that Chinese research in developing new varieties of cotton, rice and vegetables would bring immense benefits for Sindh.

Pakistan and China are two friendly neighbouring countries and have always worked for the welfare and economic betterment of the people of each country, Shah said while holding a meeting with the Chinese (Hubei province) delegation at the CM House.

Shah maintained that Hubei and Sindh are two sister provinces striving for the progress and prosperity of the masses of both the countries. He added that there is scope of development in various fields particularly in information technology, tourism, agriculture, coal mining, power generation, and other fields.

He stressed the need to participate in the development and betterment of Gorakh Hill Resort project so as to provide recreational and tourism facilities and opportunities to the people of Sindh. Shah added there is vast opportunity for cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The Consul-General (C-G) of China informed the Sindh chief minister that the investors are interested in putting money into the tourism industry. He said that the Chinese investors would be taken to Gorakh Hill Resort and other tourist spots. He also apprised the chief minister about Thursday’s visit of the historical city of Thatta. The leader of the Chinese delegation, Zheng Chunbai, who is the Vice-Director Science and Technology Department of Hubei province said that there was similarity of land, soil fertility, water availability and climate atmosphere thus progress made in maximising the agriculture productivity could be applied simultaneously in Sindh.
