Pakistani team reaches Beijing to take part in tourism festivals

BEIJING (September 19 2009): A Pakistani delegation led by Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry for Tourism Mufti Ajmal Khan arrived here on Friday to participate in various tourism festivals in China. "We can promote our tourism only when we highlight our tourist spots by attending tourism festivals like World Tourism Destination 2009, being held in Tianjian from September 18 to 22", Mufti Ajmal Khan told newsmen on arrival at the Beijing Capital International airport.

Mufti Ajmal said that he would represent Pakistan in this exhibition. The Parliamentary Secretary pointed out that by regularly participating in tourism promotional activities we wanted to get benefit from Chinese experience. Pakistan had been allocated five booths and tourism departments from Azad Kashmir, Sindh, Ministry of Tourism, PTDC, and private operators would display the tourism promotion materials and traditional handicrafts, said Joint Secretary Ministry of Tourism Mohammad Yaseen Jangua, who is also accompanied the delegation.

He further said that after conclusion of the Tianjian fair, Pakistan would participate in the World Tourism Destination Fair in Hangzhou starting from September 21. The Hangzhou fair was being held simultaneously with Asia Pacific exhibition in which Pakistan would also participate, he noted.
